Looks like the severity drops at a rate of 1/2 per six hours. At that rate It would take a week and a half before they stop entirely.

Some are worse, some are better. We haven't had a big one in a while *touch wood*, ie, no 5's. Hopefully they're dying off, but the current prediction is months!

I saw this post yesterday and have been thinking about what to say since. I'd like to say something helpful but I'm too terrified. I live in California, and life is fabulous here but what happened where you live reminds me that it can't last. We live along a fault line, in beautiful weather so it's hard to move for something that hasn't happened in my generation.
