Maximum Ride Unofficial Community

Protect the flock! From JP and Hachette!

In less than 48 hours, the first shelve-worthy copies of Fang: A Maximum Ride Novel is going to hit the bookstores, mostly overseas.
Us in the United States however, will not get this luxury, and many of us,
I assure you, will want to read the book on our own time.

Naturally though, we can't expect everyone to keep quiet. It simply isn't
possible. So, in an attempt to make it easier on those of us that
aren't fortunate enough to get our hands on Fang this Thursday, I propose that the fan community does it's best to safeguard others from spoilers.

How do you ask? With a warning. Any of these will do:

How do I know if it's a spoiler?
Spoiler material is anything that hasn't been released to the general public by Hachette. In short, if it isn't the book flap teaser from Amazon or the
first six chapters that were posted on Mr. Patterson's fansite, it's a
spoiler.

Does this apply to books 1-5?
No, it does not. These books have been out all over the planet for an
entire year now, and everyone has had a fair chance to get their hands
on them.

Isn't this the job of the Moderators?
There are no statements either in the Moderator rule book or in NING's Terms
Of Service to prevent spoilers. In short, the Moderators are powerless
in this matter. Therefore it is the job of the community to prevent spoilers.

You can't tell me what to do!
You're right. I can't. However it would be better for the rest of us if you listened. Consider it a community service.

Are you doing this to try to shut down "Fang New Info"?
Sievey Kole Jackson has taken special precautions to make sure that the
information that was included does not contain any specific plot
information. Feel free to check it out after reading this.

What do I do if someone has posted a spoiler and won't put up a warning?
Don't post on their thread. As a result the thread will eventually move to
another page from lack of attention, and can easily be found at a later
time and responded to, once you've read the book. DO NOT INSULT THE POSTER

Is this in effect forever?
Of course not. One week after the US release, which is to say Monday,
March 22, will have been plenty of time for the packages to arrive from
BN and Amazon, and the fans to have visited their local bookstores over
the weekend. You can disregard this post after that date.

Only as a community can we prevent spoilers! Do your part!

You guys always get the awesome British books first though. For good reason. xD
