Megan - I know, I'm just getting tired of this subject. Both sides know they won't give to the other, I don't see much point in it. The constant arguing over this. . . is terribly irritating.
Meh, that's not really to this degree.
There was thought to be homosexually even in paleolithic times. This goes farther back, than just a few hundred years. It might even be a learned thought/behaviour that people are having a hard time with.
That being said, look how long before racism stopped being such a HUGE problem. Are there still issues with it? Yes. But we're one of the first generations, I've noticed, or at least in my area, that doesn't consider that much anymore. And that took a great many years. If you consider how long discriminating against gays, have been going on. . . .you need to give people time to adjust, which, people aren't at all patient.
Lamp - I understand that, and it IS irritating, but.... If somebody just comes out and says something that offensive, I automatically get defensive. I can't really help it.
Also, according to Christianity, or at least what I've understood of it, with the limited knowledge I have of it, humans are held to different standards than other animals. And to each their own. Some people think it's wrong, other's don't.
Fishy - I try not to argue this. And it probably does seem like I argue both sides, as I do see where the others are coming from, and I do believe in a religion which is utterly against this idea.
I kinda stand in the middle, tolerant.
I don't mind people being gay/bi. I don't question them about their choice, either. I don't go off telling them that my religion says it's wrong. I, personally, don't see anything that bad, with it, nor do I discuss this matter with them, really. However, I would never be one to become bi, or something of the like, myself. I consider it a personal choice, and to each their own.
Whoa. I actually agree with you. This might be the first time I've ever agreed with a semi-religious opinion on this. Except, I, as you've noticed.... argue it with people. It just bugs me, how people can be so inconsiderate and intolerant.... homophobic people treat gays as if they're not even human. And that's just not right, no matter what your opinion may be.
Yeah, I most definitely agree with you on that. I find that irritating, as well.
However, if you look at this big scale, this IS a very different way of thinking than has been previously throughout history, and of course people will need time to adjust to that.
It is, but if you look back in history, it wasn't too long ago that black people were completely discriminated against. Doesn't make it right to do so now.
