We can't even access FF.net, I hate my school. Maybe if I saved it onto a USB... Or the library... Which would be really odd.
This one guy who I don't actually think I know, but is my "friend" for some reason, posted a really funny bulletin on myspace which probably applies to you all. They're all great, but #12 made me giggle. A lot.
"You know you're in fandom if...."
1. The subtext is there. No, really, it is.
2. You’ve attempted to write fanfiction before.
3. You’ve written really, really horrible fanfiction before.
4. When you think of fandom, furries aren’t the first thing to come to mind.
5. The fanon is better than the canon.
6. Squees will be the demise of the world.
7. You have your OTP, and you’re convinced you were the first one to think of it.
8. You attempted fanart. It ended badly.
9. You don’t even really like the subject anymore. You stay anyway.
10. There is a difference between anti-fans and haters. Yes, really, there is.
11. You make real life references on the boards. This isn’t weird at all.
12. You’ve made close friends through fandom. You still call them by their username, even though you know their full name and more.
13. You go to conventions.
14. You read fanfiction. A lot of it.
15. You pre-order the new book long before it’s even advertised.
16. People don’t understand. They just don’t. You don’t really care.
17. Slash pairings are made of win.
18. You secretly stalk one fic author or fanartist’s profile.
19. You realize that there is more to fandom than squeeing over the book.
20. All the cool people in the world are in your fandom. Unfortunately, they don’t live near you. At all.
