Or was it that Orpheus was allowed to see her once a year? -

I loved it for that reason, it was morbid and beautiful.
He went down the the underworld risking it all, just to see her and attempt to save her.
The once a year thing, was Persephone, she only goes down to the Underworld once a year which was the explanation for Winter. -

It the Disney version her and Heracles live happily ever after.
In the myth, they're happy have two kids, then Heracles goes on a rampage and kills his kids and wife. Which is why he did the labours of Heracles. -

I never really liked Orpheus to be honest. His name was too much like Morpheus, my favourite god of all time.
Uh Fishy, I think you should go with the Disney one. The traditional one is less than pleasant.
