I wrote a character with the most hilariously bad Scottish accent when I was about twelve. Promptly stopped.

What I don't understand is why Roland has such a shitty accent. You'd think, seeing as he's been working with Max for 14 or so odd years he'd have better English. I mean, he must be talking in English all the time.

Going with JP's actual canon here, not mine... I firmly, firmly hold that he deliberately puts on the accent to fuck with Max's pretty little head. (He has no lines where he's not speaking to her, so we don't even know if he normally has an accent or not.) Which leads me to the conclusion that he probably way, way overdoes the mad scientist role for her too.

I don't mind my old really terrible stories. I have a binder, might bring it to class one day so that my English teacher can give us a few good laughs. It's just that story in particular and the horrible accents that were tried.

I understand. Although... there's one story I really need to find, it was so over-the-top awesomely bad. Interestingly weird "heroine" crucified the adorable "villain" to the wall of the building he worked in. Yeah.

I'm praying that he comes back in FANG, because... Doctor Hans Gunther-Hagen? My fangirl sense is tingling, that's gotta be him.

I actually planned out a plot for FANG involving awesome Roland/Jeb action that would probably have the ability to save the series. Would involve massive retcon powers, but... say... if I got to plot/write the next few books, it would be possible to desuckify the books and end the series in two more books.
