I agree on the hug thing. So much.

I thought Marian seemed genuinely concerned about Roland's well being last time we checked in with her, and even mentioned that she cared about him as a friend. Although, that might have been a holiday chapter, which means quite some time would have passed, but still.
...I'm going to go with a *handwave* and a "It all makes sense in the end, I swear to God" here.

Translation: Yeah, that was bothering me too, but I didn't want to just trash that material. So I went with the usual policy -- go along for the ride!
*nods* In that case, I'll just follow along and see where we end up
Probably bat country. But what the hell. Forward ho!
Meh, at least it'll be an enjoyable ride.

Also, I might have no idea if bat country is an actual place or a saying, like referring simply to a very batty/ crazy location. I'm assuming the latter, but...
It's frightening the amount of things for this fic I'm entirely winging. The proportion increases astronomically once we get to TFW, aka the one where Jeb spends the whole book off-screen. MAX will be much worse (seeing as Max has gone totally round the twist at that point, which means I can do anything :D).

It's a catchphrase, I think from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas vOv But I dunno. It's like... "we can't stop here, this is bat country!"
But it's fun. For the readers, and, hopefully, for you. Plus the characters are giving some direction, right? (I'm assuming that's what they're doing when they refuse to shut up). And then I might finally find out what happened in MAX...

I think I've heard it before, but *shrugs* Just thought I'd check
It's going to be a riot :D And yes, I already have a few thin plotlines set up for around that time period... just not a whole lot. Not much happened in MAX either, that I remember. Well. Stereotype villain, this time Chinese. Horrible Fax. They fought monsters with Godzilla's origin story. And I felt gypped when I realized that...

Well, I'd been told that Jeb, as part of some heartbreaking scene, had the line, "Where's Val?"

This was lies v.v

He did wind up in California for absofuckinglutely no reason, though. Which made me laugh.
*excite* Yeah, that was pretty much what I gathered, and no need to read the book.

But that would've been so sweet... But of course JP can't just do a sweet little scene, specially not between characters who aren't, well, Max.

And we all know who's in California... :D
Yeah, you didn't miss jack.

I was pissed, especially considering that there've been some anglings for Jeb/Val in the series. What a missed opportunity >:|

That is exactly what I thought XD
And I got to keep my brain cells :D

I thought something was going to happen between them in the fourth book, but then I thought MR was going to be a good series too. JP loves to disappoint you.

XD I think I've spent too much time hanging around you
You're clever ._.

All the shippy joy, as usual, is in the subtext -- it says quite a lot either way you take it that when huge amounts of shit are going down, it's Val that Jeb goes to.

Possibly. Almost definitely.
