RAM is Random Access Memory, it's..... something that takes forever and a day to explain to somebody who doesn't get it. But it's basically what your computer runs on.
GHz is Gigahertz.
1000 mb makes one gb.
GUI is a really old term that we used like, when I was 5. Graphical User Interface. Pronounced "gooey." (Basically, your graphic card...)

It's probably just your graphics card isn't good enough. They're really costly though...
I don't know if mine's good enough to play Sims 3... it can handle Sims 2...
