I'm really glad you said that. Thank you. It's just that you guys are worth taking to, unlike most of the other people on MDW (I differentiate between MX and MDW, for obvious reasons).
The site it too n00by now. Honestly, I don't think it'd be better if it just went right back to how it was. . . no, too much has changed for that, but getting rid/replacing the horrid mods would be a plus.
N00bs are very important. The steady flow of them helped us all make friends and provided conversation topics, which I believe is the downfall of this site. We're all too good of friends, and it's killing the place.
I don't like it peaceful, it's too boring now.
Why? For crying out loud, Anti is an opinion of the books, not a way to go about posting. >.<' Will SOMEONE please post this on MX so newer Antis/Sanes understand this? It's KILLING ME!
I just want someone to explain that while there was Nathan's Army, not all Antis are followers of Nathan. Some antis didn't even approve of bashing or typical anti behavious. It's a bloody opinion of the books. Someone who used to like/love/saw the books had potential and then disliked the newer books or the direction JP was taking the series. While many love Nathan and we call her a Queen, we aren't out doing her bidding, or anything. It's an opinion of the books.
Being an anti /does/ just mean you don't like the books. Some people, predominantly antis, also bash squees, correct grammar, etc. But it's not mandatory. There are loads of Antis that /don't/ do that, and never have.
We 're on the site not because of the books but because we're apart of the community, because over the years of the fandom people have grown attached to others, and aspects of fandom that you can't get if you leave. Like fanfiction for instance, and the people. And no, it's not about trying to win over more members, it's because m'dear, we are forced to reiterate what we don't like about the books over and over, and often those with intellect can understand where we're coming from and so choose to join us.
Because we don't like the book, and we're not going to pretend to, but we do like the fandom. We shouldn't have to leave.
Only, an anti doesn't just mean you don't like the books, and you can like the books and be an anti. You just have to disagree with some part/theme of the books.
Also, remember Jon? She was, imao, one of the nicest antis. I don't remember her bashing at all, just telling other antis when they'd gone a step too far and that she disagreed with them. She's a prime example of an anti who didn't bash or anything.
On TTS, not too long ago, I was reminded that I didn't hate the books. I dunno, I guess at one point I just got caught up in finding flaws and whatnot, I forgot I used to argue for the books 3-4yrs ago. It's those things we need to remember. Antis aren't just a bunch of haters, we're a bunch of people who loved something and then watched it tumble. Those who even when they disagreed cared enough to spend time doing something. Besides every fandom needs antis. It's adds to the balance of things.
*nods* If we just hated it, we wouldn't have bothered, but it was at some point a good series, even if it was never good literature. And now it's become something I couldn't walk away from if I tried.
A fandom where everyone sat around agreeing with each other would be... dull.
Exactly. The site would be boring if we all loved the books. We'd need something more to discuss than possible shippings.

Wasn't Jon called the nice Anti?
There was a thread on how to get rid of Squees way back when, and "Being nice to them" was one of the things that didn't work. Jonathon had her name there.
And I might bash the books, but usually I stay clear from bashing n00bs, unless they do so to me or my friends. I dislike conflict.
