Toshiba. STAY AWAY from Toshiba. ~~No offense to anybody who has one, but they're almost always a terrible investment, and poor quality.~~

HP's are decent, but don't live up to the price tag.

My personal preference is Dell, but there are a lot of good brands out there.

Also, I can't say anything about Macs, I'm horribly anti-Apple.
