Emo Characters - Overused or still Fresh?

Just about everything I've read, eithe rin books or in fanfiction, in the last few months seems to have a token Emo.  He/ she's always dressed in black, with black hair that obscures at least one eye, and have a terribly traumatised past.

Am I the only one that wants the emo phase to end, or do people still find them mildly interesting?

XD I dunno, I find them interesting...as long as they're not bitchy or anything. :) Then I don't mind them much.
