[Edited Because I Fracking Can]

Welcome to the Secret Confessions thread. Beyond the pure anonymity of the internet, there lies a certain level of understanding behind all the accounts here on FF. The SC account carries burden of allowing the user to give a candid, private confession with (hopefully) understanding feedback. The SC thread is for other posters to give kind and/or helpful advice, words of empathy, or a secret of their own (under the SC name or not).

This account is a group account, and EVERYONE needs to treat it respectfully. By posting under the Secret Confessor, you are pledging to refrain from hate mail, "finger-pointing", insulting and being a jerkface. By posting in the SC thread, you are pledging to keep the comments respectful. This has not yet been a problem, but it's nice to have written down "just in case".

If you would like to use the SC account for ANY reason beside posting in this thread, please PM me- even if it's under the SC name (this is not to exert authority, but to maintain order over a very accessible account).

Thank you!

Family's suck major ass. Christmas eve dinner, my dad intentionally sat me in the middle of the guests side of the table, with the rest of my family sitting together as far away as possible. My brother got half drunk again. I hope things get better for you, and know that, whoever you are, most people on this site love you.

Family isn't always about the people who raise you, or the people you're related to: it's the people you love, your closest friends. Sounds awful schmoopy, but eh, it's what I believe.

Your goals are valuable. You are valuable, even if you aren't tall enough, skinny enough, or in any way not enough for these people.

I can't give you much, other than internet hugs, so... eventually you're gonna get out, and find people who love you and support you: maybe they won't agree with what you're doing, but they'll back you up anyway. Those people are your family.

I entertained the thought for a while of not being my parents' biological child -- I wasn't conceived naturally, so it's technically possible -- but I look too much like my brother and inherited temperament qualities and physical things from my parents. Sigh.

*hugs* I know we can't do much, but.... what Nathan said. Family is who you consider closest... no matter who that is and what your biological (or legal, for those of you adoptees) relation to them is.

I can't really offer much, I got lucky and most of my family (well, all of the ones I spend time with besides dad's girlfriend) is really awesome and supportive. And they believe in that same philosophy -- we have a lot of "bad" family members, screwups who ruined their lives with drugs and such. They're not considered family.... but our best friends are always welcomed and treated like family.

And that, my dear, is what family really is. :D You'll have that some day, whether or not any of them are biologically related to you. We love you, darling. Merry Christmas if you celebrate it. :D

My best friend (who is a straight guy; I'm a straight girl) texted me this:

"On me dit que le destin se moque bien de nous."

An online translator said that that means "I was told that destiny mocks good of us."

I don't know what he's trying to say or how to respond.

:DDD

That's the best line from this really awesome song called  Quelqu'un M'a Dit. I'd be willing to bet he knows the song, most guys don't come up with poetic phrases in foreign languages to send to their best friends. And this song is on the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack. The artist isn't too popular in the US. Yes, I do have that soundtrack memorized, shut up. XD

And, it actually means "I was told that destiny makes fun of us." It's a love song. It goes "Somebody told me that you still love me, could that be possible? I was told that destiny makes fun of us."

So... either he's stumbled across Carla Bruni and thought that sounded cool, or he's trying to be romantic and he likes you.... I don't know your situation, but since you felt you needed to include your genders and sexualities, I'm betting... :D

.....leave it to somebody here to know the exact line, the translation, what song it's in and what movie soundtrack it's on.

Thanks though. And I think that's what he meant. He likes me, but I don't like him. D:

Well.... that's my favorite movie, I know the artist, and I'm a French geek. XD It was just a really good coincidence.

Aww. D: Well, I can't help you there, I'm not one for handling awkwardnesses like that gracefully... good luck, though!

XD

Thanks. :3

*BWAHA!*

It's true. It's a beautiful coincidence.

That being said, zoinks! I'm sorry about your awkward situation. I'm witnessing the same thing happen between my two best friends right now. Sorta. She's oblivious (and so was I until about six hours ago).

Not-so-secret confession:

I love my family and I always will, y'know? But sometimes they really just piss me off.

Two hours. My cousins live two freaking hours from their dad. Do they visit him? No. And do you know what they do when they plan to visit? They usually blow him off. And it kills him. We all know it does, but nobody says anything. They don't visit thier mom much either, even though Monica lives in the same freaking town as they do. (Divorced parents.) They only call their parents when they want something. It's hard on my uncle, but still nobody says anything. Honestly, I love my cousins. But when they do this I want to punch them in the face. They have no idea how lucky they are. If I could drive two hours to visit either of my parents, I would do it in a heartbeat. They don't get how fortunate they are to have both their parents. They're divorced, yes. But they're alive. And my cousins don't seem to understand this and it just pisses me off beyond all logical reasoning. Two hours. I would walk in their shoes, if I didn't have a car. I miss my parents so much and their parents are right /there/ and they treat it like it means nothing. I love them, but sometimes I really, really hate their actions.

*done ranting* *feels better*

*hugs* I'm sorry, hon. I love you. You can still call me whenever you need to, okay?

I avoid my mother at all costs, but I think I have a reason... don't know if your cousins have a good reason not to see them, but either way, I see what you're saying. It's not fair. It really isn't. *hugs again*

*hugs back* I know. XD I always end up calling you when I'm a sobbing mess.

They don't. Their parents have always spoiled them. I think they abuse that. But that's another rant for another time.

Thanks though, Megan. I love you. *hugs*
