Stranger: Have you ever missed someone that broke your heart and you know you shouldn't miss them. You should move on. But, it still hurts?

Stranger: i was with someone for two years. we were engaged. he called it off with no warning
You: Ouch. That's terrible. If you're engaged, it's a /commitment/. People don't seem to get that. You'll find somebody better, or he'll realize he screwed up. You deserve better than something like that.
Stranger: i tried to commit suicide. I lived... obviously. We aren't friends at all.
Stranger: no, this was 14 months ago. it is over forever, for real
You: Oh, don't commit suicide. Really. It's not the way out -- there are other things in life.
You: Well then he obviously didn't deserve you. It's good that you broke up -- now you can find somebody who will actually appreciate you.
Stranger: i hope so
Stranger: but i feel old

You: That's not true. Not at all.
You: There are tons of single people out there, close to your age.
You: So... don't worry.
You: For now, just... throw yourself into life. Friends, work, hobbies.

So maybe some of the people who rant are trolls. But if just one of them is a real person who just wants to talk to a random stranger... well, I like helping people. This made me smile in the end of it. :D
