Pokemon Update Thread

We need a place to talk and brag about HeartGold and SoulSilver, which technically isn't allowed in Pokemon Fan Club. Yeah, we could do that on "What are you doing right now?", but here it'd be on topic.

I searched and didn't find one. Feel free to yell at me if this isn't okay.

IVing confuses me so much.  I still don't understand how that works.

It actually only takes a few generations, but it you need a Slugma or Magcargo with Flame Body to hatch all the eggs. Then test out all the babies from all those eggs to see if they have good IVs (by feeding them Rare Candy and feeding the information here). And then if the babies are better than the parents, you replace the babies until you get a 'flawless' 31. /That/ takes much time and it's even more boring than EVing because you keep hatching eggs. XP

I've achieved flawless Sp. Attack and flawless Attack on Swablu but it'll take a lot for me to try that again.

Hatching eggs isn't a problem.  My method of IVing was hatching like thirty eevee eggs (ditto and eevee made so many babies) and picking the best IV's out of all of them.  I didn't even find out that you could do the generation thingy until a few months ago.  I've been considering trying to do it enough to get decent IV'd base Eevees to trade to Black when it comes out, but now I don't have nearly enough time.

I can't help but love Ditto, it makes breeding so easy, and when I first got into pokemon, I thought it was the cooles thing EVAR.

HeartGold and SoulSilver had two continents, at least. I felt like they could have made it more of a challenge though. I was hoping for Red-level Elite Four, where it's as difficult as it's supposed to be.

I know this, so did the original Gold and Silver, and the new Red and Green had some islands thrown in. I want to see a game with ALL of the locations, and the Orange Islands. Something that would keep me busy for a year and a half of gameplay.

I don't know about that. Two continents is enough. What I'd like is the Orre region, with a bigger darker (no pun intended?) storyline, and a remake of Hoenn that brings Contests back in their original form, with more variety in the effect of the moves and a minigame to make Pokeblocks.

Eh, if they can make a profit by selling the games that are basically the same except for new pokemon added, they could go for it. It might cost a bit more to make, but I think if they jam packed more into a single game they would get more sales from it considering how similar, and short the story lines are.

If there's one bad bad thing it's the lack of different areas to venture to when hunting for pokemon.
