Oh, in English the teacher had us discussing different types of slang, and somebody said "internet slang" and then another guy added "fandom lingo!" and everyone looked at him funny, while I proclaimed my love for him and he said "wait, you know what I'm talking about? You are the most awesome person I've ever met." and then the whole class thought we were really strange for pretending to fall in love with another because of something that they didn't even understand. It was quite funny.
Jeez, what's with you and meeting people who spend far too much time online/lurk, IRL?
Seemingly no one in my year or the one above, at my school, knows how to even GO to a forum, let alone post. Heck, they didn't even know what 'spam' was. We had to make a fight in text language. . .my group had spam wars.. . . the class actually thought we were throwing virtual cans of spam.
Wow, that sounds like something we would do in MY English class.
Except Mr. Fowler would totally be in on it. He wanted to read the books just to read the fanfic I started. Then I had to tell him how I was banned for starting a riot. There were then cheers around the room!
Lamp - My school is probably 75% preps, and for the most part the preps ARE the jocks, and the other 25% is mostly the 'emo' or 'goth' people and a few normal people. Then there is a very, very small sect of anime nerds, general nerds, etc. Those people are pretty awesome, if you can find them.
