Oooooof, that was a JOURNEY. A bizarre journey. I'm not surprised he continued the series but also just. fuckin. why.

Yeah, from what I've heard it's not good.

I checked the ebook out from my local library and read approximately one paragraph before concluding "fuck this" and returning the book.

I’ve been on a nostalgia kick the last few days, and thought I would come say hello to anyone who still gets notifications here!

How are you all going? It’s a, been some interesting times.

I check sporadically!

Times are weird for sure, but things are good? Living in a decent apartment with good roommates. We got a great dane. Her name's Olive and we love her. Working for a non-profit. Still writing here and there. I mean, other than the everything-happening-right-now, no complaints.

How're you?

Things could be better, but they could also be a heck of a lot worse.

I've been staying with family for most of COVID. It's been nice, but I'm a little ambivalent about getting an apartment again. I'll have to for work, but I'm sort of in a weird position where I don't know what office I'll be working in in a month or so which makes me disinclined to rush.

Oh my god, I remembered this site existed today while sitting at work- glad to see so many of you are doing well (okay is good too!) and have stopped back here recently!

I just graduated with my bachelor's in May (which unfortunately made me way too young to have been on MDW originally.. oh my god) and finally quit my 5-year retail gig for an office job. Definitely very weird but I'm grateful and enjoying things so far.

Things are crazy, but the pandemic might be the best thing that's ever happened to me.

I'm about to start my last semester on a Grad Degree in Cybersecurity. Between scholarships, unemployment comp, and stimulus, I'm going to come out the other end of this having made money, which is insane!

I still write fanfic, one of which incorporated all the winged-people stuff I learned from Maximum Ride to good effect.

Once I'm employed again and things calm down, I plan on refocusing on writing again and formally publishing. It's going to happen some day, I swear!

Make sure you come back and let us know when you do!

I check in every now and then. On the whole I'm doing alright!

I finished college in 2018, and since then I've been working + occasionally writing.

I've also been collecting a bunch of Maximum Ride fandom stuff on a very basic website -- started as a quarantine project, then quickly spiraled out of control.

Late!  Just got the notification from this...

2020/1 was very good to me.

Prior to the pandemic, I had been working in Aerospace doing BI Dev at a company that let me take a month off to excavate the 2019 season at Pompeii. Decided that was a bad sign career-wise, so I started job hunting got a cool job offer to move over into healthcare... just before all the Boeing drama and covid China shutdowns completely killed the local aero supply chain, and the company laid off ~70% of staff. o.o Super lucky.

The healthcare company kept me on, and I bought a house this last July.  This last month I started an online MSc through the University of Edinburgh in Archaeology/Classics, with the goal of hopefully doing a stateside PhD and career switch into Archy in early 30s.... better late than never.

Slowly turning into the cliche of a west coast hippy - expanded my sourdough operation into also naturally fermented ciders/wines and dabbling in cheeses...

I still stalk all of you on NaNoWriMo!  And it's great to see that everyone seems to be successfully surviving the pandemic.

TFW your original audience is now old enough to get plastered reading your shitty books.
