Fascinating.
Since I'm not sure if you ever googled it, Japan doesn't have so much strict gun laws as the people there just aren't that crazy (at least, as far as I observed). Japan is, overall, a very safe place (as in, eight-year-olds riding the subways alone during rush hour). They think it's bizarre, strange, and scary for someone to walk into a school with a knife, to say nothing of a gun.
