The backstory is a bit odd, but I found it to make some degree of sense.
The backstory was that unemployment is crazily high in Japan, and because of how many people are already in Japan, the students lost faith in the value of the educational system, in that even if they were perfect students, their odds at a worthwhile job were still grim. So the result of this is that most students not only stop taking school seriously, but are actively resisting laws demanding attendance, stabbing teachers in the hallway and the like.
Fearing complete future anarchy, the government put out an ultimatum to the students; stop, or we'll pick classes at random and force you all to kill each other. Students, being students, have no awareness of long-term consequences and refuse to stop, so therefore, Battle Royale.
Hoping this will cause some discussion:

Who's Maya?
...Actually, fuck it. I don't really care.
I fucking hate age restrictions on concerts. RAWR.
I don't understand how I can do so badly at Trig I and do so well in Trig II but okay, whatever. I'll just redo Trig I and ace that test.
In other news, starting to really feel the pressure of choosing a Uni and what to major in now. :|
I don't get something about prime numbers.
Theoretically, if you took the largest number we're testing for primes out there, then squared it, then squared it again, and then took another number with the same huge number of digits, then searched for what numbers go into said number, dividing it each time whenever you find a prime number that can divide it...wouldn't you eventually come up with only prime numbers?
And what are the odds of said prime numbers all being small ones that we already know of?
I mean, obviously this trick won't work, or else I wouldn't have thought of it, but it bothers me that I can't figure out the solution to why it'd be impractical/isn't already being done.
If you divide any number up enough times, you will only get small prime numbers in the end, unless you're working with a really big one.
Though, we already have a system for locating prime numbers, though we only need so many:

Stupid MDW ate my post.
That's been happening lately. :/
Is it normal to feel stressed or depressed even though you have no reason to?
Scientifically, I'm not sure. But I have.
And apparently my body reacts to stress more quickly than my conscious brain.
Yes. It happens from time to time.
FIGGY returns to MDW of its own accord!
