Sanes
A newer type of site social group, but nonetheless play a key role on MDW.
What is a Sane?
Sanes, or Sane fans, are a sort of composite between Squees and Antis. One the one hand, they enjoy Maximum Ride. On the other hand, they look at it inteligently, are willing to admit to flaws in the book, and tend to use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Is this person a Sane or an Anti?
It's very easy to mix up Sanes and Antis, due to their intelligence, level of involvement, their positive opinions of villains, and occasional condemnation of over-squeeing. However, one will find that in comparison to Antis, Sanes don't bash the series as much, don't specifically taunt Squees, are less likely to reccomend 'slash-fic'
Are they dangerous?
Depends. Sanes are not as dangerous as Antis, but they expect to be presented with logical arguments. If you make an argument against them that isn't backed up with facts or is abstractly speculative, they will spend a good deal of time pummeling you with logic.
Why haven't I seen that many of them?
Sanes are a relatively new group first officially declared in the summer of 2009. Antis and squees, comparitively, have been about since MR fansites came into existence.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Does anyone else have any other important topics that they feel are worth covering?

Nighthawk was the one who attached a name to it, as far as I remember. I was having a conversation with someone and heard the name used out of the blue, then Nighthawk showed up with a thread soon after. Still, this is designed to be a sociological thing, specific history means specific people, and the mods don't like some specific people, so Summer of 2009 is the closest you're going to get to specifics.
