Sometimes I sit and I think "am I the only one who read 3001" because if we go back to space, there's all sorts of materials we could use chilling in the asteroid belts. Or hell, on our planetary neighbors.

It's up there, but it's cheaper at the moment to get it off of Earth... except tritium or deutirium (I forget which) which there's supposed to be craploads of on the moon...and one of them is supposed to let us set up stable fusion generators and cheaply power the whole damn country for years.

I mean, it's not bad if it's done well... Nick Hornby wrote a book about four people who meet as they're about to commit suicide, and it's tastefully executed. I hardly doubt that that crowd is going to do something completely worthless and possibly offensive, but meh. Telling them off is just going to make them defensive.
