Do crew. Crew is awesome. And you don't have to be good with power tools.

Theatre friends are worth it.

Yes, do crew. It's fun. Techies rule. :D

Power tools are fuuuun... And so is painting the set. :D

Any saw that isn't a miter saw terrifies me.

Yeah, you guys are right.

It's just that I'm so used to grinning bashfully when techies imply actors are all ditzy drama queens.

Being on the other side of that should be interesting.

Do actors have prejudices against techies? Because it certainly works the other way. xD In good fun, of course.

One of my friends is a techie-gone-actor (back to techie now), and he said he enjoyed being on the other side.

I wouldn't really call it a prejudice.

More like a kind of terrified respect.  Techies are kind of my rock: They're stable and supportive (unlike most actors) but aren't really expressive conversationalists.  Mind you this isn't a complaint.  Talking is what the actors are there for.

They do at my theatre... They think the techies don't deserve all of the stuff they get, and when you're heading off when they arrive for rehearsals, in the early parts of production, I've heard things like "What are you doing here? You're not in the show..." from an actor. I just smile and wave while thinking "Excuse me bitch, there would be no show without us..."

I'll usually try out for a show and be a techie or stage crew when I don't get a part. I haven't done any theatre stuff in a while though...

I only ever teched because it was as close as I could get to a shop class, but my little brother is an actor* and he's colored my perception of the entire group :|

Anyway, there are plenty of shenanigans whichever side you're on. And you get to use saws if you do tech!

* Who sometimes helps out with tech as well because his friends are techies.

I have to take a music appreciation class.

It's boring.

When I was a kid I took piano lessons for seven years.

My freshman year of high school I took music theory.

It was the easiest A in my high school career.

It's not really relevant, but enjoy your jamming-to-tunes class.

This has been the most creative break I've had in a long time.

Felt nice.

I'm going to hate Monday.

Wow, I really like the amount of faith you have in me.

"Why are you signing a thing against distracted driving? You don't care. You can't just sign against petitions you don't care about."

My sister's friend was killed by a semi-truck and my best friend's dog got run over by a car and left in a ditch to die. I care. A lot

"Why did you even go to awards night? It's not like you won anything. You only got honours with distinctions in grade 10."

I got the highest English award for Grade 10...

I know I'm really mean to you sometimes, but seriously? I don't care about distracted driving? Were you not there when I went on a ten minute rant about how much I hate people who text and drive? And it's kind of hypocritical to say that I always bring you down (which I'll admit, sometimes I do) when you didn't even have a little faith in me for getting an award in any subject.

And this is coming from the person who said I was her best friend. I'm just... so disappointed in her.
