First track and field meet of the year today. I did horribly in 100 m dash (which I did for fun so it doesn't matter) but considering I've had four days of training, never have done track before in my life, and do not participate in any sports (last Thursday was the first time since September that I ran) and that I was sick (the burning feeling in my throat as I ran, the sneezing, and the coughing it turns out, was not just a figment of my imagination), I consider seventh place (out of eight) in the 800 m run, a very good job.
And you know what? I made someone else happy to know that they were faster than me. So either way, I'm proud of myself.

If I have to listen to my dad slander anyone who was against Amendment One any longer, I'm going to flip out.
For those who don't know, North Carolina just passed a freaking law that no homosexual couples can get married. Period.*headfreakingdesk*
I get that we're in the Bible Belt. Heck, I'm a Christian, too. But seriously people, what is so wrong about it? Aren't we supposed to love everyone? Aren't we supposed to love the sinner, hate the sin? It's absolutely ridiculous, and the only justification anyone can give me for their support is that the Bible says it's an abomination. Oh, and my dad thinks I am also an abomination for not slandering all gays. Bullcrap. How can you hold someone to the standards of a religion they don't follow? We should be moving forward, not regressing.
I hate not being able to speak my mind in my house because I don't agree with my parents on things like this.
I seriously don't get that amendment - gay marriage was already illegal. All it's done is redefine 'domestic partnership' to the point where people in defacto relationships, or the children of those relationships suffer.
Well, I suppose the biblethumpers think that those people are living in sin... but, yey for the dark ages.
Then the homosexuals will move to a different state, and North Carolina will suffer a loss of population and tax profit.
State's loss, really.
Or if they get really desperate, they'll come up here and we'll embrace them with open arms. Except Harper, because he was adamantly against gay marriage. :(
Cooool. You have the best links! :)
I've got my PPL met exam tomorrow, and so we have to learn the why and the how as well as know how to decode met reports... most of it is relatively familiar to me. Still, it's quite interesting! At the moment I'm reading up on aircraft icing.
I'm going to try to re-integrate myself into MX. Wish me luck.
