Advil PM is my best friend. Especially on Sundays and Thursdays.

What's it about, if you don't mind me asking?

It's a slice of life set in a neat-futuristic world with sentient androids running around. Parts of it focus on Robot civil rights and the personal dramas that ensue (Mostly of the self-deprecation sort, such as the androids considering themselves inferior to humans and thus come to expect the degradation, or the flimsy definition of intelligence (And how various characters view it, for better or worse), and human characters realizing they've enslaved intelligent people, organic or not--that some have even died for them, without them even remembering the robot's name or giving them a second thought. Also hatred and bigotry, but that's to be expected in any story resembling reality), but I'm planning on touching on more mundane topics as well (Which I suppose is ironically still preachy, considering that I don't plan on distinguishing whether those having said concerns have DNA).

That sounds really awesome. I'd definitely read it. Fo sho.

Got one of the three spots at my school for the Loran award! Which means I'll be sponsored and have to go through less hoops to get the award!

When I examine my competition though, I am aware that this will be incredibly difficult.

But I beat the kid with 11 highest marks in the class (he's in AP too) so maybe I've got a shot?

Okay. Life is stressful, but okay.

I'm skipping my morning classes today to finish some work and stuff, but I'm starting to feel like I have a mild stomach bug, too, along with my mild sleep-deprivation. This isn't cool; It's opening night for the Sanitarium.

Oh well. I just have to keep going. I'll survive.

I watched Return of the King the other day. It's cheesy to say this, but comparing my stress to that of the characters helps me get through things like this. I just remember that it can always be a LOT worse.

I can't wait for Winter Break...

Five day weekend, holla.

The power was out this morning, so they postponed the PSAT and canceled school which was supposed to start at eleven. We don't have school tomorrow or Friday either.

In natural response, I spent 5 hours watching Castle today.

Hopefully I'll get some college essays done tomorrow and Friday.

Feeling less stressed, then? I hope so!

Yes! (For now.) Thanks. :)

I think I might have the flu. Does anybody know how to tell?

I didn't see Obama yesterday. They gave out more tickets to see him than they were allowed to, apparently.

Also, I had a flu. I think. It was weird--I felt like crap the entire day, unsure as to how severe the pain really was (My parents were under the, "If we freak out about it, he'll freak out too, so it's better to just deal with it and not let him know how concerned we really are," philosophy of child-rearing, which, while helpful in terms of preventing my unstable widdle mind from having nervous breakdowns, ultimately meant that I have no standard to compare my pain to. I don't accurately remember how past injuries felt, and as such I don't know if any current one is more or less painful than any others I've experienced), but mostly functional. Apart from not eating anything and having a stuffy nose, I was normal. Then, at around six or seven my time, I went all weird. It hurt a lot, and I started rigorously reading and taking notes on Ayn Rand (Her Virtue of Selfishness--we read it for ethics class today) and writing something about how 0.99999... doesn't equal 1.0000... because it relies on a false conditional.

I woke up today congested and dehydrated, but in no pain whatsoever. Our brains and bodies are weird. On the plus side, I'm now terrified of what sort of weirdness I'd experience if I ever used mind-altering drugs.

(And when I say rigorously taking notes on Rand, I don't mean diligently studying. I mean finding every single thought she wrote down and making a side-note in it in my notebook. I have a no-longer empty notebook on my desk and a cramped hand. Yay?)

Remember that antitrust suit bu the american government against Hachette and others? If not, recheck my thread here:
http://flockforum.ning.com/forum/topics/american-government-sues-ha...

So I just got this e-mail from BN that, because I purchased a number of Hachette-published books, namely MR, I may be eligible to get reimbursed some of the money I spent on them! Wouldn't THAT be nice!

Benefits from an Attorney General E-books Settlement Fund
Para una notificación en Español, llamar o visitar nuestro website.

Records indicate that you are eligible for a payment from Settlements reached by the State Attorneys General with E-book publishers Hachette, HarperCollins, and Simon & Schuster. The Settlements resolve an antitrust lawsuit about the price of electronic books (“E-books”). Barnes & Noble has not been sued in this case. It is providing this notice as a service to its customers.

What the Settlements Provide

The Settlements create a $69 million fund for payments to consumers who purchased qualifying E-books from April 1, 2010 through May 21, 2012. If the Court approves the Settlements, eligible consumers like you will receive credits to your E-reader accounts. The credit can be used on any purchases of E-books or print books. The amount of your payment has been determined based on the qualifying E-book purchases identified by Barnes & Noble in your E-reader account.

How to Receive your Benefit

Because you are pre-qualified, you do not need to do anything at this time to receive your credit. If the Court approves the Settlements, you will receive another email letting you know how to activate your credit. Once you activate the credit, it will be applied to your account by Barnes & Noble. (If you bought E-books from more than one retailer, you may receive notices with different instructions about whether you will receive a credit or need to file a Claim Form for that retailer. You will have a separate claim for each retailer and you should follow the specific instructions from each one.)

You also have the option to receive a check instead of your credit. You can request a check by calling 1-866-621-4153, or going to the Settlement website listed below, and clicking on the Check Request Option link. Be sure to reference the Settlement ID number found at the bottom of this email.
The Settlement website is: www.EbooksAGSettlements.com
