This is tangential to the thread since the days of the Twilight forum are long in the past, but Kristen Stewart got nominated for Best Actress, and that makes me really happy.

I don't remember if I was ever specifically mean to her, but the answer is "probably." If so I regret it. She didn't deserve that.

I don't know if she deserves an Oscar either (because I haven't watched the movies with lead actresses nominated, not because I'm specifically critical of her performance) but it's nice to hear that she's finding success in some capacity. Same goes for Pattinson, but I think I always liked the guy and people weren't as cruel to him if memory serves so I don't feel as remorseful there.

Really enjoyed Pattinson's role in Lighthouse. Nice to see both overcame their start.

I hope y'all are doing really, really well in life. Wishing you only the best. <3

Not sure if any of you follow this anymore, but worth posting this just in case:

There's a new solicitation/scam going around fanfiction.net. Basically someone offers services for art of your work and charges you an obscene price for AI generated art. If you get one of these, ignore it, and report the sender at support@fanfiction.com

Considering as the website hasn't really changed since the 00s who knows if anyone's even reading that mailbox, but it's worth a shot?

Anyway, I live in Phoenix as a cybersecurity engineer now. Really enjoying being able to walk outside in a T shirt in February. I do some occasional writing under the fanfiction handle 8andahalfby11 but that's about it as far as old hobbies go.

Hope you're all doing well!

I don't have any notifications on but I pop by here maybe once a month or so. Mostly when procrastinating.

I lived in Phoenix (Mesa, actually) for a few years. I visit friends there like once or twice a year. If you haven't been to Cornish Pasty Co. or Changing Hands bookstore yet, both are worth a visit imo. If nothing's changed, the Phoenix bookstore also has a bar in it, if that's your thing.

Appreciate the heads up for the scam.

wow, i sure was a dumb kid 14 years ago!

gosh, i'm genuinely over the moon to see that a little piece of my adolescence is still here kicking it and, better yet, that you guys sometimes pop by to check on it too. my brief update is that i went to college and got my bachelor's in linguistics and now i live and work in Boulder as an IT guy. right now, i'm eating thin mints. i made sure to stock up before they stopped selling them for the season!

i can't begin to estimate how much positive memory you have of me - if any - but i hope you are all having good lives. thanks for making my teen years a little brighter! :)
