XD I didn't even think to go to a write in, my parents were all like "hey you wanna go?" XD
@Omega - Really? That sucks. We have two MLs, who organize at least one Sacramento write in a week. But we have separate ones in all the outlying areas, too, since whoever created the boundaries had the brilliant idea to make "Sacramento Area" spread from Tahoe to the East Bay....
Yet again, my parents don't know I'm doing it, but... my cover is that a friend of mine wanted to go and wouldn't go alone, so she asked me to come along (all true) and that I, being a gracious friend, agreed to accompany her.
Why don't they know? Just didn't want to tell them?
Mine were surprisingly cool about it. Dee was a bitch, but she's a bitch about everything. They even let me stay up late on weekends to write. XD Though that's not what I've been doing.... This damn site.
The first year they knew they freaked out and decreed that absofuckinglutely no extracurricular writing was going to occur at all, I proceeded to have a meltdown, and... they've never known since. Not worth the trouble.
Ahh, that sucks. My parents' only problems are that it'll make me stay up too late, that my grades will drop (though, they haven't a fucking clue where they started at before November), and they'll want to read it at the end. Which just isn't going to happen. My dad and grandparents, for some reason, have it in their heads that I'm a decent writer. And always want to read it. >.<'
