I just... it hurts that based on personality, and thanks to additional circumstances, I don't have a place to fangirl with tons of other people who know what I'm on about.

That hurts. I don't like to admit it because it makes me feel petty and small, but not having a fandom fucking hurts.

And I can't ditch to some other fandom because... MR was my first, and you never forget your first, even if they were terrible.

That, and the other possibilities I've considered, I can't really get any experience with the source material because I'm a broke non-gamer who doesn't even have a console in the first place.

I'm strongly considering throwing myself on the mercies of Metal Gear fandom for this fic exchange. I know my way around the canon okay, I'm... a better writer than some others I've seen, and they seem like lovely, fantastic people.
