It was a wonderful reminder of the way inspiration used to just broadside me. Fuck that I was pulling books for storytime -- it was writing time RIGHT THEN OMG.
It's fun when that happens. And the story comes so much more quickly when inspired by a sudden stroke of inspiration, rather than by making yourself write something.
*will check tomorrow* Or I could finally pay my fines at the local library and get it there.
That's been the exciting thing with NaNo -- the story comes so damn fast. To reiterate a metaphor I've used a few times: RC is more like a job, or a committed relationship. I have to work at it, though it still has its sweet moments. The detective story is a quick fling, a one-night-stand. It's all "sweet", none of it at all forced-feeling.
I paid 40 bucks in fines at the library the other day.
Unfortunately my NaNo's decided to be the sort of one-night stand that refuses to admit it's a one-night stand, and is getting all clingy and demanding and an awful lot of hard work. *will be looking forward to finishing it*
Mine are... something like that. Can't remember. One of the things I love about the school library is they don't actually make you pay fines.
