This made me laugh so much, but I might be the only one who gets it...
"You know you went to a small school if...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. you can name everyone in your high school and jr. high
2.Your teacher's call you by your older siblings name or
your parent's name OFTEN
3. You don't date anyone from your school because you already feel related
4. You don't do any class work because five people are absent
5. There are 8 kids in the student section because everyone else is a cheerleader, player, or in the band
6. Your teachers know the gossip before the students do
7.The basketball team doesn't have enough players for a team because of ineligibility.
8. When a visitor arrives and everybody wonders who they're related to
9. You've always wondered what its like to ride a bus to school
11. Graduation ceremonies last 45 minutes tops
12. You can say every person's name in your grade alphabetically
13. When you say your school's name, a normal response would be, "Huh? Say that again? What is THAT?"
14. You can say everyone in your grade's middle name and email address by heart
15. You know every single person in the school personally, including faculty, and even the janitor
16.Even the teachers make fun of the school
17.. You know WAY too much information about everyone
18. when you hear someone's voice in the hall during class, you ALWAYS know who it's coming from.
19. The secretary in the office knows everyone's name, how to spell it correctly, who your siblings are, how old you are, and what your blood type is
20. when you can identify that ur principle is coming, based on the sound that his shoes make"
Taken from the FB group "You know you went to/go to a Christian school when..."
And yes, everything there was true for my old school. I can say everyone's middle names in my entire grade (last year's, I mean) alphabetically. And to 15, yes I know the janitor, and when I go to pick my brother up he asks how I've been. I love private school.
I go to a very public, very large high school. (Well. Almost 2000 kids this year, about 480 in my graduating class.)
2 went for people at my middle school because the teacher had taught there forever and not many people move too much.
9, I've either lived too far away for bus service or too close for bus service. For every school I've gone to.
16, we live in Suburban Hell. The cool teachers mock the hell out of the "bubble" -- just like all the students.
I laughed when I got to the end. We have a ... Christian high school just down the road from us. The building dominates the landscape, like something out of Charles Dickens's worst acid trip ever.
I am also inflicted with the "very large, very public high school." (My school is about 2000, with a hundred or two bused in everyday to take tech classes.)
But I like people.
Whereas we've got a metric fuckton of schools... And considering there's like 3-4 million people in Melbourne total, 500 000 is a hell of a lot for a suburb.
