Funny, we spend all this time complaining about our parents in real life, but when you put it into fiction, it makes a lot more sense.

In my defense though I swear to god out of all the kids in my family my parents like me the least.

Not quite, more of having to find a way to take a bunch of nameless parents out of the picture by revising the circumstances. Think about it, if a kid that's still a minor disappeared, they'd go looking. I'm trying to write a scenario so that they won't. I have half of it covered.
