So People were asking how a publsihing company that put out Catcher in the Rye could fall as far as Twilight.
So:
CitW was published in 1951 by Little, Brown and Company publishers.
In 1968, the entire company was purchased by Time Warner Books.
In 2006, Time Warner Books was purchased by Hachette Livre, a French publisher (who also owns Yen Press, for those of you who are curious).
And to take it one step further, Hatchette is owned by Lagardere Group (who purchased Hatchette in 1988), formerly known as Matra, which was a bicycle, plane, and missle manufacturer.
In short, the CEOs behind all of this are vehicle manufacturers.
Which makes me wonder what the heck they're doing running a publishing company.
