I actually kind of admire him.
Sure, he tortured and murdered a lot of innocent people, and he's in my top ten, "People I hate," list, but he took over Germany. That's kind of badass. He was a genius. If he'd put it towards good, he could have united the world. Maybe.

He was, in short, a crazy awesome psychopath. Who played by the rules. If he was fictional, I'd squee over him.

Write a story with a Hitler-esque guy as main character. Lead it from his perspective. And see how many memes he creates for being such a badass by people who think he's the greatest thing sinced presliced bread.

Brilliant... okay, yes, fine, he was a good politician who helped Germany out of a dark place. But also a total bastard douche who was responsible for horrible things.

Oh, I hate him with a burning passion. He personally offends me. If I could ressurrect him today, I'd do awful things to him. ^_^
Doesn't mean that I can't admire brilliance.
I happen to come from one of the groups that he had persecuted, mind, so it's not like I'm just being insensitive.
