Welcome to the Secret Confessions thread. Beyond the pure anonymity of the internet, there lies a certain level of understanding behind all the accounts here on FF. The SC account carries burden of allowing the user to give a candid, private confession with (hopefully) understanding feedback. The SC thread is for other posters to give kind and/or helpful advice, words of empathy, or a secret of their own (under the SC name or not).
This account is a group account, and EVERYONE needs to treat it respectfully. By posting under the Secret Confessor, you are pledging to refrain from hate mail, "finger-pointing", insulting and being a jerkface. By posting in the SC thread, you are pledging to keep the comments respectful. This has not yet been a problem, but it's nice to have written down "just in case".
If you would like to use the SC account for ANY reason beside posting in this thread, please PM me- even if it's under the SC name (this is not to exert authority, but to maintain order over a very accessible account).
No, they are not. "Average" is determined mathematically, by looking for a typical range amongst all the unites of a group. "Normal" is a sociological distinction, based off of a subjective perception of one's environment. For example, if someone lets go of an object in space, it floats. While mathematically this is average, subjectively it's not normal.
Mathematically you have the bell curve, which lands you with the 50% woman mentioned above. However, as shown in crash dummy construction, here are the dimensions for a 50 percentile adult female:
I'd look for ones that have adolescent girls, but because they are still growing, you can't accurately predict, chart, or measure anything. Until you're a finished product, judging is quite nonsensical. I recall seeing one of these for a 50% thirteen year old female in a GM sketch in Disney's Test Track, but I can't find the dimensions online.
Jean - 10, 12, 14, and 16 long. Depending on make and time of year (revolving around basketball season), though I think my mom stole my 16s a year or two back. Basketball shorts are mens small, though.
I don't wear dresses, so I don't even know how these are categorized. Shirts, though, I'm large/XL in the not-womens sections, and Medium/Large otherwise. (The size thing. . . . I've no idea. My mom generally picks out a size, then I go one-two bigger. . . )
Bra - I definitely go to Costco, and get large. Normal sizes with non-sports. . . .I kinda just have my mom do, too. *coughs* *doesn't have time to go shopping* I think I have several different Bs and Cs in my drawer, though.
Shoes - I haven't worn womens shoes in years. They aren't made well in my size, and are generally uncomfortable. >.> Not to mention stores rarely carry above a 12, and my foot will not fit into those, and I never plan ahead. Mens 11-13 depending on type (trainer or basketball).
So. . . . yeah. Pretty sure I beat you with awkward sizes. Don't worry in the least. I've seen pics of nearly everyone here, and you're all gorgeous.
Don't compare yourself to any of us too much. Seeing where you stand is fine; thinking you need to be the same size as me or whoever else decides to post is ridiculous and unhealthy. You have a different height, weight, age and body type than me, so don't use any of this as a judge...
Jeans - 7 juniors, comfortably, 4-6 women's. I can fit in a 5, but they're tighter, and 9's fit until an hour later when they stretch and fall down.
Dress - 5, or 'small' if it's not by numbers. If you're buying the nice dresses by the bust/hip/waist ratio, no clue.
Bra - Measured 32C, but 34B's way more comfortable for me.
