That's not so far off. Doris Day has a nice voice, and Tom Lehrer's satire still applies today.

Fencing is usually what you see in the movies.

Sword fighting is a knife fight with bigger knives -- get your enemy good, and fuck whether it looks pretty. Also you're allowed to fight dirty.

'Nuff said. And only formal Fencing is non-dirty. Like competition style. I'm pretty sure if the rules didn't prohibit you, you'd stab that guy in the face a couple times before hitting his spleen. And it'd count for a point dammit.
