Went on a totally pointless field trip yesterday (when it was supposed to be raining), sat in the sun for two hours straight listening to people talk. Now I have a sunburn on my face, arms, and neck with a perfect t-shirt line. >.<' It literally hurts to walk into sunlight now. See, this is why I don't go outside.
Also, I'm sick as hell. I'm coughing my lungs out and my throat hurts, and today my stomach was in pain. My whole family has it. Almost didn't go to school today, but I already missed half of my classes yesterday because of that stupid field trip.
I want to play Minecraft. Too much homework, though. D:

So I was reading a "bitch about yo life" thread on another site, and a post literally went like this:
"bler bler my dad is an alcoholic but he's recovering and I's sad my best memory of him is when our car broke down and by the way thanks for a vacation house".
She. Has. A. Vacation. House.
Alcoholism is srs, but holy shit did that make me go :O "Rich white girl problems much?" You're rich enough to own a house with a pool, orchards, and its own staff in Costa Fucking Rica. QUIT YOUR FUCKING BITCHING.

The number of people in my little town who own shitloads of stuff, have huge houses, and drive brand-new sports cars to school amazes me.
The girl who sits behind me in first has her second newest-model Camaro after wrecking the old one and three other cars (Not to mention her getting a hundreds of dollars ticket at least once for driving over 100 on a little road with only her restricted license at 3AM while racing a motorcycle). She rented a Hummer for Prom.
I swear every other car in this town is a Mustang, too. Not even exaggerating in the slightest.

My mom married for money (kind of), so I grew up in a... probably upper-middle class is the best way to describe my family. But jeez. The social environment I move in is not the kind where people toss off "oh we've got a vacation home" while discussing family life, nor the kind where "summer" is a verb.

I don't understand how the fact she has money undervalues the rest of her comment at all... If her dad's an alcoholic she has just as much right to complain about it as she would if she had nothing. He's still her father, and as you said, alcoholism is serious stuff.
I'd also read it as 'Thanks a lot for the vacation house, you know a much better show of love would've been an actual father...', but I didn't see it context so *shrugs*

And it does sound like a really an intense vacation home. I mean I know several people with holiday homes, but they tend to be well... just a house within walking distance to the beach.

I'm turning into snappy superbitch all of a sudden. That's the second post on an innocuous forum to set me off tonight because a homeschooler being smug about "well iiiii earn mooooore than any part-time just-out-of-high-school burger flipper HMPH" somehow just pushes my buttons.
I think I'll make myself some tea and go rock in a corner while repetitively telling myself that it's not worth getting angry over, she's only fourteen, fourteen is not the most reasonable age... lsdajflsdf.
