Protect the flock! From JP and Hachette!

You read that right. Crazy and blasphemous, ain't it? Still, it seams reasonable-a set of rules for the moderators to go by, based on the opinions of the people who their boss is trying to please.

Now, don't get me wrong-I have no problem with countries without Constitutions. I hail from England, which has an, "unwritten," constitution. I just find that, if given the choice, I'd prefer to have one.

Now, what would get added to the constitution? I'm not saying we should say things like, "Don't ban any anti's ever." I'm thinking more along the lines of, "When you ban someone, send them an email so they know for what reason and for how long," as well as, "Don't ban someone because you think they might be an Anti who's been banned." I'm sure you've had, "Friends," who've been banned before-even if those, "Friends," never confirmed that they were actually you.

And yes, I'm aware that the moderators probably won't care. Still, if any of them think that our requests are reasonable, that would do us a world of good. Fact is, we aren't protected by anything. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

You may think that this idea is stupid. You may think that I'm stupid and arrogant for suggesting it. You may think that it's hopeless. And you'd be right. But we have to try, don't we?

On to business. Question one: Is this a good idea, or doomed for failure? Question two. What should we put on said constitution?

I think we wrote up a constitution at one point...but it's long gone by now.

But yes. A new one would be nice.
*nods*

What happened to it? Did anyone make a copy?
I think it was written up in the Nathan's Army group...
I remember that. It was one of the few Ants vs mods threads that I commented in. It's gone.

That thread had a few issues in it, namely that it made the mods entirely subservient to the fans will. While it made for a cute idea, it wouldn't have worked in action.

The main issue is that while we know that the moderators are there to uphold the terms of service, we don't know the rules given to them. If you knew their rules, you'd know how to deal with them accordingly.
Would be nice, but... I poured enough of myself into trying to fight the mods. For now, at least, I am done.
This is true.
(I haven't been on MX in like, a month. Too stressful. This site is nice.)
You're not missing much. A bunch of Dylan and Angel based speculation threads, more of "Fang shouldn't die" and that sweepstakes I'm trying to mob.
I think it's a good idea.... but it needs to be written by people with legitimate accounts and developed profiles on MX, not banees.

They don't care what those who have been permabanned think, and they'll reject it completely. So... our ideas are kinda useless, if they come from us.
Completely true.
*is kind of tired of fighting the mods*

Right now, I'm in the mindset of, "If they think it's a business, then let them fuck themselves over."
I'm in the mindset of.... Uh, it's kind of random and delusional, like a heartbroken twelve year old on her period.
True-but even so, if we get enough non-banned to support it, they might listen. Most people like the idea of constitutions.
I'm aware that I'm a complete newbie and know fuck-all about MX's history/mods, and I don't really have a right to join this discussion, but if you're looking for non-banned members to help out and put forward your ideas, I'd support this. I have a next-to-clean slate as far as warnings are concerned, so... yeah.
