Shoulder the Sky by Lesley Choyce.
God awful dull as hell book. But my English teacher chose it because we met the author whose from around here. >.> I'm trying to be less harsh on it because my English teacher actually liked it.

Ooh, cool. Was it an awesome author? 'Cause ours sucked... he basically told me everything Nanowrimo told me...
A kid named Martin Emerson who deals with the death of his mother. And to add some sort of zany twist to it he writes a blog to "help make the world a better place." It sounds interesting but is actually terribly boring.
Doesn't surprise me, until we met him I didn't even know the author existed.
Both. We talked a bit about his books and also about writing. I didn't ask any questions because I was severely disappointed with half of his answers. But yeah, people were allowed to ask questions at the end. The most memorable thing about the guy was his hair. >.>
Um.. I liked the blog part although it was later killed. Some of the thought that you might have in this book was kind of interesting and I liked a character or two but overall no.
Oooh. Yeah ours writes fiction and our conversation was more, "What do you like about writing?"or, "How long on average does it take to write a book?" sort of thing.
.... This:
It was about two hundred pages but just sort of dragged on....
