I have decided to make it a running gag that every time Death gets moody in their prose, I'm going to drop the Box on his head.

I've decided to make my characters a team of fifty supersoldiers who's sole purpose is to hunt down and capture The Box.
They will fail. Hard.
Oh, and they'll also kill all the main characters, either because they're also supposed to do that or because they're sheltering The Box.

I'll just keep haunting the protagonists with the Box, that way even if you do get it or they try to throw it away, it will just teleport to them again, and again, and again.

I intend my first novel to be serious, my second one to be filled with witty jokes from beginning to end.

Rules governing The Box
-If they talk in purple prose, it drops on their head.
-If they deliver exposition, it drops on their head-If no one has talked in a while, and someone suddenly comments, it drops on their head.
-If a protagonist is trying to do something important, it will consistently get in the way.
-If directly addressed, or the characters are talking in proper writing dialogue, it will do nothing at all.
In short, it's a RP-trolling mechanism that operates automatically, without me having to put much thought into it.
