Have you considered writing in third-person semi omniscient narration? I personally find it much easier than first-person.

I was wondering if hair conducts electricity. I was thinking it doesn't because I thought that keratin was made up of covalent molecules. Then I found this:

I love Google. And I got my questioned answered so I don't have to yank out a hair and attach it to a battery:
