I don't care about your age. You're still Ni.
Sent a text to a friend to whom I haven't talked in months. I'm not even sure if it's the right number, and she has no idea that I have a phone. >.> *slightly nervous*
Ate breakfast in the shower this morning. I think I'll watch The X-Files later. *effort*
D: I'm open for rants. What happened?
My family need ideas for stuff to do/see/whatever in New York. Suggestions, anyone?
You need ideas?

I already tried to find the Institute. It ain't there.

Museums. Natural History is wicked, the Guggenheim was boring/pretentious, but MoMA is frickin' amazing and I could've spent a day there. Take a day at MoMA, see the weird modern art and "The Starry Night", which is awesome in person.

The Strand bookstore. I don't remember exactly where it is, but you can probably find it pretty easily. They have miles of books, literally. Spend an afternoon there. They have awesome stuff. Like, they have an entire floor of vintage/rare books. It's where I found my nerdy In The Footsteps Of Sherlock Holmes book (and when I timidly approached the dude at the desk to buy it, he escorted me down to the ground floor and to the front of the line at the register to purchase it. I've never felt so awesome/embarrassed).

And there's a comic book shop a few doors down that you could pay a visit.

Um... Times Square is pretty cool at night.

The Empire State Building is neat, but bring a jacket for the top.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was pretty cool.

The Statue of Liberty is interesting, but you probably won't get to go inside. Ellis Island is still in disrepair, but the building you can get into is pretty neat.

Other than that... get roasted nuts on a street corner. Take a taxi somewhere. Go shopping at one of the department stores. Get lunch at somewhere that's not a chain (we got semi-dodgy Chinese from a place across the street from our hotel). But especially the roasted nuts. They're delicious.

I can't think of anything else at the moment, really.
No, we're just having trouble choosing which things to go see. xD They're taking suggestions from my sister and I and I wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations.

My sister already said MoMA, and my dad pretty much has the museum thing sussed. Strand bookstore = HELL YES. THANKYOU. Times Square... I don't even know what that is, but I'll mention it. We're already going to the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty, and my mum wants to go to Ellis Island. I'll add the roasted nuts to the list of American food products to buy/bring home. Thanks Nathan.
I was just there in October XD

Times Square is like... Main Street, New York. That's all I can really think to describe it. Lots of bright lights and tall buildings.

Bring some plastic bags and take home a lot of those roasted nuts, if you're taking them home. They're better warm, but they're always delicious.

Always happy to help :D
Going there in April over Easter holidays. *excited*

Okay... I shall. The airport people will probably think I'm a crazy nut fanatic, but what the hey

xD Like Asda.
Ooh, have fun.

>.> I recommend double-bagging them in zipper-lock bags so they don't reek too bad. US airport security is high amounts of weird.
Will do.

Yeah... last time I went through it was a while back, but I remember it being freaky strict.
Sometimes it's weirdly nice (like in New York, the security lady struck up a conversation with me and I was o.o), but as a rule it runs on scary juju. Just be careful.
